Catherine Heaney, BA
Coordinator of the Fettercairn Community Health Project.
Local Area Coordinator for the Living Well Programme.
Leader and Master Trainer for the Living Well Programme.
I trained as a master trainer in Stanford with Kate Lorig in 2005. I am committed to developing this programme in Ireland.
I am involved in researching the programme to demonstrate its value in an Irish setting.
I also believe compassionate healthcare is an important factor in healing.
I am the Local Area Coordinator for the Living Well Programme. I trained as a Master Trainer in the Chronic Disease Self-Management programme at Stanford University Patient Research Department and have been delivering the programme in the Community since 2011.
I have been involved in leadership & community development using these approaches to health for fifteen years.
I attended the six week course and found it to be invaluable in dealing with my own problems from living with chronic health conditions.
From this experience I decided to train as a leader and have continued to work on a voluntary basis delivering courses.
In 2011 I trained as a master trainer in Standord University in California. Now I can train other leaders to continue to deliver the Living Well Programme.
